Microsoft To Retire Its Internet Explorer Browser In 2022

Tech giant Microsoft announced Wednesday that it will retire the desktop app Internet Explorer 11.

By June 15, 2022, the app will go out of support on many versions of Windows 10, the company revealed in a blog post.

Microsoft Edge launched in 2015 with a much newer browser.

The company updated users, saying, “The future of Internet Explorer on Windows 10 is in Microsoft Edge. Not only is Microsoft Edge a faster, more secure, and more modern browsing experience than Internet Explorer, but it is also able to address a key concern: compatibility for older, legacy websites and applications.”
