HSE Ireland Hackers Threaten To Sell Stolen Data

Conti Ransomware Gang, the malware group responsible for hacking the Irish health system, has recently published in its negotiating paper for the HSE a link to a free decryptor that can be used for free recovery of encrypted files while warning that they will sell or publish the stolen private data if a ransom of $19,999,000 is not paid.

The Conti Ransomware gang wrote on their payment page: “We are providing the decryption tool for your network for free. But you should understand that we will sell or publish a lot of private data if you will not connect us and try to resolve the situation.”

The government of Ireland while being aware of the free decryptor explained that it will still perform a technical review of the tool for malicious properties before using it.
