Amazon Sidewalk Shares Users Wi-Fi Network With Neighbors

Amazon is currently building a Wi-Fi network called Amazon Sidewalk that will help its devices work better by expanding the range of low-bandwidth devices to keep users online.

Neighbors who are on the network can automatically support each other if one of their devices is out of reach unless they opt-out.

While the network already includes some models of the Ring Floodlight Cam and Spotlight models, by Tuesday compatible Amazon Echo devices will be added, calling into question the issue of user privacy that has long been a thorn in many people’s side.

For many, the fact that Amazon doesn’t ask its users before automatically connecting their Wi-Fi to other users seems to be a controversial issue.
