Brazilian Gov’t Pushes Sale Of Tech Companies To Late 2022

A new timetable released as part of the Brazilian government’s privatization plan says that the sale of Dataprev, social security technology and information company, and Serpo, a federal processing service, has been postponed until the second half of 2022 because of concerns that the sale could jeopardize national sovereignty.

After Dataprev employees raised concerns about the future of the information of millions of citizens after the sale was announced in August 2020, the Brazilian Federal Court of Accounts explained that there were potential risks associated with the sale of the main state-owned IT companies.
