Tech Workers Relocating As Hiring Rates Surge In Cities

The July LinkedIn WorkForce Report looked at employment trends in the United States and provided a detailed year-over-year analysis of hiring rates, worker relocation and data in the technology sector.

In terms of recruitment rates, hardware and network recruitment increased by 3.3% year-on-year and 2.7% month-on-month, while software and IT services grew by 62.3% year-on-year and 8.9% month-on-month.

The trend of relocations detailed in LinkedIn’s WorkForce Reports shows that 23 million American workers planned to move from one place to another because of the remote structure of their jobs.

Top destinations for many include Austin, Texas, North Port-Sarasota, Florida and Nashville.

Last year, Austin gained the most people from the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles and New York City.
