Xiaomi Passes Apple Becoming The Second Smartphone Vendor

Xiaomi is in second place in smartphone shipments in the second quarter, with Samsung at number one and Apple at number three.

Xiaomi recorded a market share of 17%, followed by Apple with 14%. Samsung remains at the top with 19%.

In general, the smartphone market has increased by 12% as the economy returns after the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the second quarter of 2021, Xiaomi advanced to second place with a whopping 83 percent jump compared to the first quarter. Xiaomi is growing in several continents, including 300% in Latin America, 150% in Africa and 50% in Africa in Western Europe.

Xiaomi has not yet made it into the U.S. smartphone industry.

Smartphone makers will still have to deal with the global chip shortage that is threatening the industry
