Microsoft unveiled a public preview of the next version of SharePoint Server called “SharePoint Server Subscription Edition.”

SharePoint Server Subscription focuses on the specific needs of local customers. One of the most important advantages of the latest SharePoint addition is that it is always up-to-date and secure.

Although it requires a subscription, it includes features such as support for Windows Server 2022 and Windows Server Core, support for OpenID Connect (OIDC) 1.0, an advanced People Picker for authentication, support for TLS 1.3, and strong TLS encryption by default.

Users can upgrade directly from SharePoint Server 2016 to the subscription version without needing to upgrade to SharePoint 2019.

SharePoint is a web-based collaborative platform that integrates with Microsoft Office.

Prices for the subscription edition have not yet been revealed.
