Survey Reveals Pros And Cons Of Training Initiatives

A survey conducted by TechRepublic Premium examined various ways in which technology can help business leaders build their future workforce, update employees’ skills, and explore the pros and cons of educating and developing workers.

89 respondents were surveyed across a range of disciplines, company sizes, industry verticals and job functions.

Survey results showed that 87% of respondents said that their companies consider any learning opportunity to be “very important” or “important.”

According to the survey, companies supported the development and training of their employees for a variety of reasons, including improving expertise, making employees feel valued and increasing productivity.

But, one-tenth of respondents do not consider skills acquisition to be essential for business operations, because they are not used when they were previously offered. Other reasons include an excessive budget and tasks that are left to employees, which ultimately leads to time and financial waste on the part of the company.

More than two-thirds of respondents said that companies need retraining and upskilling post-pandemic, with training or skills focusing on leadership (47%) cloud services (32%), cybersecurity (29%) and SaaS (25%).
