U.S. Viewers Having Difficulty Streaming The Olympic Games

Share post:

Streaming the Olympic Games in the United States this year has been frustrating for many.

NBC, the platform that receives the broadcasting rights to air the game, chose to broadcast the highly anticipated sporting event on its streaming service Peacock. As a result, a mirage of problems continues to prevent American audiences from enjoying it.

Some of these problems include determining the exact sporting event and the location to watch it, missing 4k broadcasts that are not available on Peacock, partial 4k broadcasts from NBC, and some other technical issues.

Availability varies across the country, with YouTube and Comcast offering streaming in several major cities, but FuboTV and Verizon Fios only in a few.

A spokesperson for Peacock said the service is currently experimenting and will use its findings to cover the 2022 Beijing Olympics.
