WhatsApp Reveals New Feature For Disappearing Photos

Share post:

Subscribers of Facebook-owned WhatsApp will be able to send vanishing photos and videos on the platform from this week as they seek to boost competition with the photo messaging app Snapchat.

The new feature, called View Once, lets images and videos disappear from the chat after they have been viewed and the message appears as “open” once the media content has been viewed.

Snapchat, known for its Stories feature that lets users post updates that disappear after 24 hours, has gained popularity over the past year as the pandemic has forced users to stay at home.
