macOS Big Sur 11.5.2 Update Contains Bug Fixes Only

Apple’s macOS Big Sur 11.5.2 focuses on bug fixes rather than new features or major security updates.

This could be a clear indication that users around the world will have to wait for the next Mac desktop operating system, called macOS Monterey, to be released later in the year if they are interested in new features.

The situation regarding the new OS was further complicated by the fact that Apple failed to specify the bugs that the latest macOS version was supposed to fix, and the update it contained in the published notes.

The Apple support page, which describes security updates in detail for a particular release, simply says, “This update has no published CVE entries.”

However, there is anticipation for macOS Monterey, which is expected to come with several new ways to integrate a Mac with an iOS or iPadOS device.

This unique feature will help discover new ways to control macOS and iPad devices using the same mouse and keyboard.
