Apple Watch Production Delayed Due To Complicated Design

Production of Apple Inc’s latest smartwatch is facing delays due to its complicated design, according to people familiar with the situation.

Apple Watch manufacturers began small-scale production last week, but have encountered difficulties in achieving satisfactory production performance.

Production of the smartwatch has since been temporarily suspended as Apple and its suppliers try to fix the problems and certify the designs before they resume mass production.

Apple was expected to unveil the smartwatch along with the latest iPhones in the coming weeks, but current challenges could disrupt delivery plans until after the unveiling, the report said.

Apple declined to comment.
