Twitter Rolls Out Paid Subscription ‘Super Follows’

Share post:

Twitter is introducing Super Follows, its premium subscription option that allows users to subscribe to accounts they like for a monthly subscription fee for exclusive content.

U.S. and Canadian iOS Twitter users may use the feature today, and users around the world will gain access to it in the coming weeks.

Eligible accounts with 10k followers and at least 25 tweets in the last month can set their price for Super Follow subscriptions, and the account will also be able to mark some tweets only for paid subscribers while creating others for all users.

Twitter stated that Super Follow income is subject to the standard in-app purchase fees levied by Apple and Google of 30%. Twitter did say that they will only take a 3% cut of earnings for the first $50,000 generated, after which the cut will balloon to 20%.
