Twitter Tests Out Its New Communities Feature

On Wednesday, Twitter announced that it has begun testing its new Communities feature, which allows users to talk about specific topics with other users who have similar interests.

Twitter Communities are currently invitations only, but moderators and admins of different communities have “unlimited invites” and members have “5 invites per Community” that can be sent through Direct Message.

Once a user joins a Twitter Community, they can send tweets specifically to that group of people and view a “Home” feed with content that includes posts from other members of the community.

People interested in starting their own community are encouraged to apply on the Twitter website. Currently, full support for Twitter Communities is only available to users on iOS and the web, as full functionality is not available in the Android version of the platform.

For iOS users, the new feature is accessible via a special tab in the bottom navigation bar, and for those who cannot see the feature, it is recommended to download the latest version of Twitter from the App Store.
