62% of respondents to Dell’s GDPI survey expressed concerns about current privacy measures, saying they were not sufficient to deal with existing threats from malware and ransomware.
74% of respondents said that their area of attack has grown with the remote operation triggered by the pandemic. 63% said that new technologies such as cloud-native apps, containers and ML also increase data protection risks.
67% of respondents said that they are worried that they could not be able to recover their data after a cyber attack or a ransomware infection.
Dell’s 2021 GDPI survey, which surveyed 1,000 IT decision makers from around the world, also found that 82% of respondents felt that their existing data protection measures won’t be able to meet all future business needs due to a massive rise in the amount of data they manage.
Data storage has increased tenfold since 2016, from 1.45 petabytes in 2016 to 14.6 petabytes in 2021.
