AT&T Mandates COVID-19 Vaccine For Union-represented Staff

On Wednesday, AT&T Inc said it would require its union-represented employees to get vaccinated against COVID-19 before entering the workplace.

AT&T stated that Communications Workers of America (CWA)-affiliated employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 before returning to work by February 1, 2022.

While the new announcement comes barely a month after the company issued similar guidelines to its management employees, other companies are also taking precautionary measures to contain the contagious Delta variant of coronavirus, as top tech companies like Google, Facebook, and Microsoft require vaccinations for their employees.

Some companies in the United States are working to incentivize workers through bonuses and offers.

In addition, some American companies are working with unions to make the process attractive to all, as demonstrated by Tyson Food’s recent action, which announced that unions have agreed to the proposed mandatory vaccination of U.S. employees while also providing benefits such as paid sick leave.
