Microsoft recently confirmed that the new version of Windows has compatibility problems with the virtualization program Oracle VirtualBox and the network software Intel “Killer” and the Cc Cc browser.
While Microsoft explained that the problem with the Oracle VirtualBox shows up where users may not be able to start their virtual machine and might get an error, the company noted that the incompatible Intel “Killer” network software causes slower streaming and website loading due to User Datagram Protocol (UDP) performance issues caused by dropped UDP packets under certain conditions.
While Microsoft is working on a solution to these known Windows 11 problems, the company has provided a workaround to affected Oracle VirtualBox customers.
Microsoft explained, “You will need to remove Hyper-V or Windows Hypervisor until this issue is resolved with an update Oracle plans to release in October 2021. You can check Oracle’s progress by monitoring their ticket #20536. If you are no longer using VirtualBox, uninstalling it should also mitigate the safeguard. Please note, if there are no other safeguards that affect your device, it can take up to 48 hours before the upgrade to Windows 11 is offered.”
