Microsoft Outage Blocks OneDrive, SharePoint Files Access

Share post:

An outage of Microsoft 365 has prevented users from accessing files such as Excel documents stored on the SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Office and Microsoft Teams cloud storage services.

The outage began at 11:40 AM EST, with administrators and users posting on social media that they could not access files stored on OneDrive or SharePoint.

Most of the reports were about Excel users not being able to open files stored on OneDrive and SharePoint.

A subsequent update explained that only new Excel sessions were affected by the outage, while older sessions were not affected.

Microsoft said the outage was fixed at 1PM EST and was caused by a code change aimed at solving another technical problem.
