AWS Uses Serverless And On-demand Solutions

Amazon is launching four new solutions to ensure that its cloud-based services are serverless and on-demand.

These include Redshift ML, Amazon Kinesis Data Streams, Amazon EMR Serverless and most recently Amazon MSK Serverless. The serverless version of Redshift ML is compatible with Amazon S3, Aurora and Relational Database Service (RDS).

The server-free version of Redshift ML ensures that services are delivered without the need for a data warehousing infrastructure. It also supports automatic provisioning and scaling required to adapt to changing demand.

Amazon Kinesis Data Streams will offer automatic scalability (a flexible on-demand version of the streaming solution) that ensures the provision of real-time processing and delivery that adapts to usage fluctuations.

The Amazon EMR Serverless option will handle large workloads, and as the company notes, it is “easy and cost-effective for data engineers and analysts to run petabyte-scale data analytics in the cloud.”

It ensures that activities such as configuration, management, optimization, and security are handled automatically. It supports open source applications such as Apache Spark, Hive, and Presto.

Amazon MSK Serverless provides automated computation and storage resources that make it easier for developers to run Apache Kafka.
