Instagram Launches New Features To Protect Teenage Users

Social media giant Instagram is launching new features to better protect teenagers and young users on its app.

One of the new features is the “take-a-break” feature, which asks users to pause for a certain amount of time after using the app for an extensive period. The company announced that parents will be able to see how much time their children spend on the app while setting time limits.

Another feature allows teens to opt-in to a system that automatically notifies their parents when they submit a report against an Instagram user.

Other features that have been introduced include extending the boundaries of the app’s limits on messaging teens. With this feature, people will not be able to highlight or mention teens who are not part of their followers.
