Google Gifts Employees With Additional Bonus

A Google spokesperson on Wednesday announced that it will offer a one-time cash bonus to all of its employees, including the company’s expanded workforce and interns, amounting to $1,600 or equivalent in their respective countries this month.

The latest benefit comes on top of Google’s work-from-home bonus and well-being bonus aimed at supporting its employees during the coronavirus pandemic. The spokesperson did not give details of how much the tech giant has set aside for this bonus.

Google’s internal survey, conducted last March, showed a significant decline in employee well-being for 2020, leading the company to release a number of benefits, including a $500 well-being cash bonus, to alleviate the situation.

Google postponed its plan to return to the office indefinitely because of fears about the Omicron variant and the noticeable resistance of its employees to the vaccinations required by the company.
