Google To Fire Employees Who Don’t Get Vaccinated

An internal memo from Google revealed that the tech company will lay off employees who do not comply with its vaccine policies, CNBC reports.

The memo sent several months ago, states that employees had until December 3 to send Google vaccine information or request an exemption for religious or medical reasons.

Failure to comply with the rule by January 18 2022 will ensure that workers are placed on paid administrative leave for 30 days, followed by unpaid leave of 6 months after which they lose their jobs.

Addressing issues in the memo, the company’s position wasn’t denied and as a matter of clarification, Google’s spokesperson said: “As we’ve stated before, our vaccination requirements are one of the most important ways we can keep our workforce safe and keep our services running. We’re committed to doing everything possible to help our employees who can get vaccinated do so, and firmly stand behind our vaccination policy.”
