LG’s First Gaming Laptop Has 11th-Gen Intel CPU

LG has introduced its “first gaming laptop” with some impressive specs: The 17-inch UltraGear 17G90Q model is equipped with an Intel Tiger Lake H CPU of the 11th generation, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Max-Q graphics, up to 32GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.

It also comes with a 300 Hz 1080p IPS display and is expected to go a long way for gaming or content creation with the 93Wh battery.

There’s an excellent selection of ports, including a USB 4 Gen 3×2 (Type C) with Thunderbolt 4, another USB-C 3.2 2×1, two USB 3.2 Gen 2×1, HDMI, microSD, headphone jack and RJ45. It also has a power button fingerprint sensor and a 1080p webcam.

In terms of design, it has an aluminum case with an impressive grey/purple colour scheme and is fairly slim for a 17-inch 21.4 mm gaming laptop.

It’s also fairly light at 5.82 pounds, though heavier compared to MSI’s 17-inch GS76 Stealth laptop, which is 5.4 pounds despite a larger battery.

LG has not yet revealed how much the laptop will cost but said the unit is due to arrive in the US and South Korea in early 2022, and the Korean technology giant will announce further details at CES 2022 on January 4.
