AMD Unveils New Line Of Chips For Laptops

Chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) has introduced a new chip line for laptops known as the Ryzen 600 chips.

AMD also said that many PC manufacturers plan to use their chips in 200 different laptops in 2022, a significant jump from 150 in 2021.

Some laptop makers who already bought into the idea of the new chips include Asustek Computer, Dell Technologies, and HP. AMD announced its deal with popular laptop maker Lenovo.

Under the deal, AMD will supply chips for Lenovo’s new laptop model called Thinkpad Z.

The growth of AMD undoubtedly has a negative impact on the revenue of competitor Intel. In 2021, AMD was able to overtake Intel in the production of the fastest chips for most Windows-based laptops.

This helped to increase AMD’s market share to 22% in the third quarter of 2021, and the latest development will further increase the company’s market capitalization.
