Google Search Reveals What People Do After Quitting Jobs

Google recently shared several search results that indicate what people want to achieve after they have resigned from their jobs.

The tech giant looked at the jobs people searched for together with the phrase “how to become.”

From January 2021 to January 2022, the top job was real estate agents. In addition, the most popular jobs were those that offered a significant degree of independence or the opportunity to help others.

According to popularity, the top 10 were: real estate agents, flight attendants, notaries, therapists, pilots, firefighters, personal trainers, psychiatrists, physiotherapists and electricians.

Google also released the top trending professional certifications and training programs in the U.S. based on search results in 2021. These were: Google data analytics professional certificate, NCMA certification, Child development associate certification, Eyelash technician training program, Electrician training program, Real estate training program, and Barber training program.

Google also revealed that the Great Resignation of 2021 was not just an American phenomenon; other nations that ranked high in the search for “how to leave your job” were the Philippines, South Africa, Australia and the U.K.

Finally, Google also shared some tips for using Search primarily for job searching. Job search in the search engine will have a dedicated section for job ads directly from employers as well as listings from job boards. There is also a “Growing job field” icon that indicates jobs that are on a positive growth path.
