What Organizations Need Apart From Being Prepared For Ransomware Attacks

Fifty-two percent of those surveyed said their willingness to use ransomware was much stronger than two years ago, while 47 percent said their willingness to use ransomware was somewhat stronger.

82% stated that they plan to slightly or significantly boost their spending on ransomware preparedness over the next 12 to 18 months.

Despite the level of preparation, organizations may still be vulnerable to cyberattacks according to the report released by disaster recovery provider Zerto.

According to Caroline Seymour, vice president of product marketing at Zerto, an organization’s level of preparation should be complemented by a good response plan.

“When an attack happens, only an effective disaster recovery plan will allow organizations to avoid downtime, business disruption and taking a huge financial hit,” Seymour said.

For tools that organizations use to combat ransomware attacks, 43% chose network security, 40% the backup infrastructure, 39% the endpoint security, 36% the email security and 36% the data encryption.

Only 21% of respondents said they have not suffered any ransomware attacks in the last 12 months. 13% claim to suffer the attacks daily, 17% weekly, 17% monthly and 32% less often. While 41% of the attacks were successful once, 32% were successful more than once.
