Elon Musk says he is creating a content moderation council for Twitter

Elon Musk has announced the formation of a “content moderation council with widely diverse viewpoints.” He also stated that he was not informed of Kanye West’s reinstatement on Twitter after he made anti-Semitic remarks earlier this month.

Kanye said he would “go death con 3 on Jewish people,” but that he couldn’t be antisemitic “because black people are actually Jews as well.”

According to the new owner of Twitter, Musk, the moderation council will consist of people with “widely diverse viewpoints.” “No major content decisions or account reinstatement will take place before that council convenes,” Musk said. “To be clear, we have not yet made any changes to Twitter’s content moderation policies,” he added.

When asked why Kanye West’s account was reinstated, he claimed that Twitter restored it before he completed the purchase of Twitter. “Ye’s account was restored by Twitter before the acquisition. They did not consult with or inform me.”

“They did not consult with or inform me” about Kanye West’s return, Musk claims.

He went on to say that Twitter will not turn into a “free-for-all hellscape where anything can be said with no consequences.”

However, Musk said he wanted the platform to offer a “desired experience” based on users’ preferences, similar to the options available in movies and video games.

Despite Twitter’s statement that no accounts would be reinstated before the council meeting, Musk tweeted that people suspended for minor and dubious reasons would be released from Twitter jail.
