The poll began with an open nomination process in which readers were invited to submit their favorite desktop environments. The six finalists were then selected based on the number of nominations received. The final round of voting is open to everyone, with no registration required.

Readers can cast their votes by visiting the FOSS Force website and selecting their favorite desktop environment from the list of finalists. The poll will remain open until March 31, 2023, and the results will be announced shortly thereafter.
