The firm focuses on attracting Gen Z customers via social media by selling hundreds of new goods at low costs every day. Temu is a shopping app that offers anything from apparel to gadgets and allows customers to buy directly from Chinese producers, avoiding conventional warehouses. Although its headquarters in Boston, Massachusetts, the firm is a subsidiary of PDD Holdings, a Chinese-owned internet retailing behemoth that specializes in direct-to-consumer items. Temu was released in the United States less than a year ago.
