HP fixes firmware update rendering printers inoperable

HP is working to resolve a faulty firmware update that has resulted in the malfunctioning of HP Office Jet printers worldwide. The update released earlier this month, has caused widespread issues within the affected customer base.

This faulty firmware update affected several HP OfficeJet printer models, including the HP OfficeJet Pro 9022e, HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e, HP OfficeJet Pro 9020e All-in-One, and HP OfficeJet Pro 9025e All-in-One Printer. According to customer reports, their printers are displaying blue displays with the error number “83C0000B” on the built-in touchscreen.

HP says it is actively addressing blue screen errors affecting the affected users. In light of the automatic installation of the faulty update on Internet-connected printers, HP advises its customers to disable their devices’ Internet connectivity until a subsequent firmware update is made available to rectify the issue.
