ChatGPT introduces “custom instructions” to tailor responses

OpenAI has announced a new feature for its AI-powered ChatGPT chatbot called “custom instructions.” This feature allows users to set preferences that will tailor how ChatGPT generates its responses.

For example, a teacher could use custom instructions to tell ChatGPT that they are teaching fourth-grade math. This would allow ChatGPT to give more specific and relevant responses when answering questions about math.

Custom instructions can also be used to specify the code language that a developer prefers, the family size of a user, or even the user’s location. This allows ChatGPT to provide more personalized and relevant responses.

Custom instructions are currently available in beta for ChatGPT Plus members. Regular users will be able to access the feature in the coming weeks.

To use custom instructions, users simply need to go to the ChatGPT settings and enable the “Custom instructions” beta feature. Once enabled, users can add their preferences to the “Custom instructions” field.

OpenAI says that the information given to the customize responses will be used to train its API models to adapt to different instructions. This will allow ChatGPT to become even more accurate and helpful in the future.
