Musk meets Netanyahu in Israel

Elon Musk met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a high-profile meeting at Tesla’s Fremont factory to address the growing concerns surrounding antisemitism on the social media platform ‘X.’

Musk’s invitation to Netanyahu came amidst accusations and controversies related to rising antisemitic sentiments on the platform. Just before the private conversation was broadcast, Musk boldly stated, “The Soros organization appears to want nothing less than the destruction of western civilization.” This statement raised questions about the role of influential figures in perpetuating conspiracy theories on ‘X’, particularly regarding the political funding of philanthropist George Soros, a target of antisemitic conspiracy theorists for years.

The focus also shifted to ‘X’ itself, with its owner threatening to sue the Anti-Defamation League and claiming they were falsely accused of being anti-Semitic. Musk also revealed his plans to implement a monthly subscription fee, separate from the existing Premium subscription to sieve out bots.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for Netanyahu to seek Musk’s support for Israel’s AI sector, amidst domestic controversy surrounding judicial reforms.
