Cloudflare, Meta partner to democratize AI with Llama 2

Share post:

Cloudflare has partnered with Meta to make the Llama 2 open-source large language model (LLM) available to developers building AI applications on Cloudflare’s developer platform, Workers.

LLMs are a type of artificial intelligence that can generate and understand text, translate languages, and write different kinds of creative content. They are trained on massive datasets of text and code, and can be used to power a wide range of applications, from chatbots to virtual assistants to machine translation tools.

In the past, LLMs were only accessible to large companies with the resources to train and deploy them. However, Meta’s release of Llama 2 has made it possible for any developer to use an LLM to build innovative applications.

Cloudflare’s partnership with Meta makes Llama 2 even more accessible to developers. Cloudflare’s hyper-distributed edge network will enable developers anywhere to build applications with Llama 2, and Cloudflare’s Data Localization Suite will allow them to control where their data is handled.

This partnership is a major step forward for the democratization of AI. By making Llama 2 available to developers on Cloudflare’s platform, Cloudflare and Meta are helping to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to build AI-powered applications.
