Microsoft OneDrive forces users to explain why they quit

Share post:

Microsoft OneDrive is now forcing users to explain why they are quitting the app. This comes just a few weeks after Microsoft Edge was also caught doing the same thing.

When a user tries to quit OneDrive, they are presented with a dialog box with a list of options to choose from, including “I do not want OneDrive running all the time,” “I do not know what OneDrive is,” and “I do not use OneDrive.” There is also an “Other” option, but there is no “none of your business, let me quit” option.

This is just another example of Microsoft’s attempts to impose its services on users. In recent years, Microsoft has been bundling more and more of its own apps and services with Windows, and making it increasingly difficult for users to uninstall or disable them.

This new OneDrive dialog box forces users to explain their actions before being able to quit the app. This is not only inconvenient, but it also sends the message that Microsoft does not trust its users to make their own decisions about how they want to use their computers.

Microsoft has not yet commented on why it is forcing OneDrive users to explain why they are quitting the app.
