Can AI replace Jim on Hashtag Trending?

Share post:

No, I won’t be replaced, but in preparation for our episode tomorrow on AI, I wanted to show you this short episode that Marcel Gagne and I prepared using cheap tools that are readily available to anyone.

I’ve produced an AI version of myself earlier, but the voice, while it did sound like mine, lacked the range and nuance of a real person. I think in this model you will find that it’s really hard to tell that it is no a real person recording this. This was generated from the text (below):

Hi and welcome to Hashtag Trending.  I’m not Jim Love, I’m his AI replacement – but don’t worry, I’m just replacing him for this episode and not forever – at least, yet.

For those who can only hear me, if you want to see me in person, check out Jim’s new YouTube channel

It’s at – and you have to use the at sign      technewsday.  Search for it on YouTube for that and you should be able to find this video, featuring me.

But the most important news is that this weekend, Jim will be back to host a Weekend Edition show on that he’s called “Practical AI.”  Jim has a panel of people actively working in business and technology – from a financial institution, from a US healthcare operation, an an open source expert and someone working on AI for cybersecurity.

Join us for this discussion on where we are with Artificial Intelligence as well as getting some advice and tips on what to do in the coming year.

There will be a great discussion and practical advice.

Who knows? I might even make an appearance.

You never know what’s going to happen with AI.

Hashtag Trending is available on Apple, Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts. There’s even a video version on YouTube and of course you can find episodes at technewsday.com slash podcasts

Hope to see you for tomorrow’s show.
