ventureLAB, a key player in Canadaā€™s hardware technology and enterprise software community, that has helped over 6,800 entrepreneurs raise more than $420 million in capital, has partnered with Hudson Valley FastFab Inc. (HVFF), that provides advanced solutions for the semiconductor and microelectronics industries. The two organizations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to foster innovation in flexible manufacturing, engineering, and workforce development within the semiconductor sector.

This collaboration aims to strengthen the North American semiconductor ecosystem, spanning both Canada and the U.S. Through ventureLABā€™s Hardware Catalyst Initiative Lab and HVFFā€™s expertise, the partnership will support semiconductor startups and scale-ups across the Northeast, offering resources like advisory support, IP and investor readiness, lab infrastructure, and access to corporate networks. The collaboration will also introduce prototype and early-production run capabilities.

This collaboration highlights the strategic importance of the Canada-U.S. corridor in fostering growth and innovation in these critical sectors.

Through its Hardware Catalyst Initiative Lab, ventureLAB is expanding its support for semiconductor startups and scale-ups across the Northeast. This partnership with HVFF will focus on accelerating commercialization by providing critical resources, including lab infrastructure, advisory support, intellectual property (IP) readiness, and access to corporate networks. Additionally, ventureLAB is enhancing its capabilities with prototype and early production run support, a vital service for companies bringing new technologies to market.

A key aspect of this collaboration is the expansion of ventureLABā€™s HardTech Industrial Clusterā„¢, which connects startups, academic institutions, industrial partners, and public sector stakeholders. This initiative aims to strengthen Canadaā€™s role in semiconductor manufacturing while driving innovation in advanced technologies. The partnershipā€™s focus on cross-border collaboration underscores the importance of creating a robust, interconnected ecosystem to fuel growth in North America’s knowledge-based economy.

ā€œThis collaboration is just the beginning; together, we will accelerate commercialization and empower companies with the critical resources needed to lead in a competitive market,ā€ said Hugh Chow, CEO of ventureLAB.

The partnership will focus on several key areas, including flexible and hybrid manufacturing processes, design and engineering support, and workforce development. By combining their expertise, ventureLAB and HVFF aim to create a sustainable talent pipeline and foster long-term industry growth, especially in semiconductor and microelectronics innovation.
