This level of usageāequivalent to uploading 182,000 photos or streaming 1,600 hours of videoāset a new record for data traffic at the Rogers Centre.
Mark Kennedy, Rogersā chief technology officer, highlighted the achievement, attributing it to the companyās $8 million investment in boosting 5G capacity at the stadium. The upgrades provided the equivalent coverage of 33 downtown Toronto towers, ensuring seamless connectivity for the concertgoers.
Swiftās six Toronto shows not only captivated fans but also provided a significant economic boost to the city. Destination Toronto estimated the concerts generated $282 million in economic impact, with $152 million in direct spending. Additionally, Moneris, a payment services provider, reported a 57% increase in downtown Toronto spending during the first three shows compared to the previous week.
