Meta’s core applications including Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and WhatsApp experienced a global outage, with users reporting error messages across multiple platforms. The disruption comes just months after a March incident that took down Facebook and Instagram for more than two hours.
Users attempting to access Facebook are encountering error messages stating “We’re working on getting this fixed as soon as we can.” Downdetector is showing sudden spikes in problem reports across all affected services.
Meta has acknowledged the situation, stating on X that they are “aware that a technical issue is impacting some users’ ability to access our apps” and are “working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible.”
Users have taken to alternative platforms including X and Bluesky to report their inability to access the services.
