Bard and ChatGPT competing for top spot in AI market

Share post:

Alphabet and its rival Microsoft are battling for AI supremacy after Alphabet, Google’s parent company, launched “Bard” in response to AI chatbot sensation ChatGPT, in which Microsoft has invested billions.

Just minutes after Google announced the launch of Bard, Microsoft announced that it would hold an event at its Redmond headquarters to reveal its own AI, potentially setting the stage for the next Chrome-versus-Internet Explorer or Gmail-versus-Hotmail battle.

Following that, Microsoft released the new Bing, which includes a ChatGPT. ChatGPT, a sophisticated conversational and creative response system, has been integrated into the new Bing.

However, one significant difference is where the two chatbots get their information.
While ChatGPT derives its information from the data on which it was trained, Bard derives its information directly from the Internet.

Furthermore, both technologies can distill complex information and multiple perspectives into simple formats, but the most noticeable difference is Bard’s ability to include recent events in responses.

Bard, on the other hand, is based on LaMDA, which stands for Language Model for Dialogue Applications. The AI generated text with such skill that a company engineer last year referred to it as sentient, a claim widely dismissed by the technology giant and scientists. The OpenAI platform is built on Generative Pre-trained Transformers (GPT).
