Google will offer software updates for each of its Pixel 6 models for five years.

iPhone has been superior to Android in terms of updates for years, allowing newly released updates to run on old devices.

With this latest announcement, Google is beginning to close the gap between its own devices and Apple’s iPhone.

Google will drop the initial XL branding in favor of Pro, which is similar and familiar to iPhone users.
