Hackers Now Target via Users Phone Lines

Users’ lines risk becoming overloaded and even going offline, thanks to a recent plan by attackers who have threatened service providers to carry out the threat.

As the number of online calls has increased significantly in recent years, this threat cannot be ignored, and this action has therefore intensified the recent DDoS attacks against VoIP providers.

Unlike ransomware attackers, DDoS attackers do not have to penetrate a company’s servers to accomplish their mission, but arm digital traffic to disrupt the functioning of a company, at least temporarily.

According to intelligence analyst Allan Liska, this type of attack has been prominent in recent months, after attackers discovered that they do not need much traffic to disrupt the special protocols involved in transmitting audio in real time.

If the threat actor decides to carry out their threat, the inability to access emergency numbers will be a major blow to the world.

VoIP expert Postner explained what needs to be done to counteract this trend and outlined what organisations need to do, including law enforcement on-call time and a response plan under a host of other rules.
