Intel Suspends Business Operations In Russia

Share post:

Intel has suspended operations in Russia just under a month after halting deliveries to customers in Russia and Belarus.

The company said it would continue to “join the global community in condemning Russia’s war against Ukraine and calling for a swift return to peace.”

Intel also said it would support its 1,200 employees in Russia and “implement business continuity measures to minimize disruption to our global operations.”

Intel’s latest move means the company has joined the growing list of companies to suspend operations in Russia in protest at Russia’s activities in Ukraine.

Major companies that have stopped services in Russia include Apple, AMD, Adobe and General Electric, Spotify, CNN, ABC, PayPal, BBC, Google and others.

Russia has also cracked down on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and the video streaming platform YouTube by restricting their operations in the country.

The Russian government continues to accuse Western technology platforms and news media of projecting a distorted perspective on its military operation in Ukraine.
