Apple has released an update to address security vulnerabilities on its iPhone, iPad and Mac devices.

According to Apple, hackers exploit the vulnerability to infiltrate WebKit, the engine that drives Apple’s Safari web browser. There are no confirmed reports of specific cases where the vulnerability was put to use against people or devices. However, Apple warned that the exploit could be used by hackers if the user accesses “malicious-crafted web content.”

The update is now available for iPhone 6s and later, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2 and later, and iPad 5th Gen and later. It is also available for iPad Mini 4 and later, as well as iPod touch (7th generation). Mac users with macOS Monterey are also advised to the update.

Security updates are released to address vulnerabilities discovered by security researchers. It is important that organizations and users address these identified vulnerabilities by installing updates. Failure to install these updates endanger users’ devices and put them at a risk of being compromised by malware distributed by attackers.
