Twitter’s new verification system verifies fake Disney account

Share post:

The current Twitter verification method has generated confusion as a phony Disney account obtained a gold tick before being removed. The account, which went by the name @DisneyJuniorUK, notified its followers by expressing surprise.

Twitter confirmed the fake Disney account used to troll, creating the appearance that it was an official account on the social networking platform. However, Twitter later removed the account after it was revealed to be propagating inappropriate information.

Elon Musk previously removed blue checkmarks from “legacy” confirmed accounts, and a new color scheme was used in the verification procedure. Despite the fact that numerous famous accounts originally lost their badges, the majority of them were restored over the weekend, and practically every user with over one million followers received a new blue tick.

During the verification confusion, Twitter inadvertently deleted gold checkmarks from numerous business accounts. Musk created these gold checkmarks, which cost some businesses $1,000 each month. Twitter promised to restore these checkmarks as soon as possible, but in the process confirmed the wrong account.
