IBM has made a significant move in the industry’s fierce AI competition with the announcement of its latest offering, Watsonx. This business-focused AI solution set to be launched in July, aims to provide more accurate answers and adopt a more responsible approach compared to its rivals.
IBM is directly competing in the consumer market, while focusing on helping other companies implement AI through its “data model factory.” This factory will offer IBM clients specialized products tailored to their respective domains, such as language, code, chemistry, and geospatial data.
Watsonx is designed to offer a studio, data store, and governance toolkit for foundation models and generative AI. Along with this, IBM is launching a range of new products infused with foundation models and generative AI, aimed at providing solutions for code, AIOps, digital labor, security, and sustainability. The goal is to bring the best of open-source AI models to the enterprise through a collaboration with Hugging Face, a leader in natural language processing.
To further support clients’ business transformations, IBM Consulting is also launching a Center of Excellence for generative AI. This initiative will bring together over 1000 AI experts who are ready to implement enterprise-grade AI solutions for clients.
With these efforts, IBM aims to enable organizations to harness the power of AI to drive innovation, increase efficiency and enhance decision-making processes.
