Biden administration releases National Cybersecurity Strategy Implementation Plan

Share post:

The Biden administration has released the first iteration of the National Cybersecurity Strategy Implementation Plan, which was announced in March 2023, with the goal of increasing public and private cybersecurity resilience, combating threat actors, fortifying infrastructure defenses, and developing a clear national roadmap of cybersecurity responsibilities.

The plan includes more than 65 federal initiatives, which are aligned with five essential pillars: defend critical infrastructure, disrupt and dismantle threat actors, shape market forces to drive security and resilience, invest in a resilient future, and forge international partnerships to pursue shared goals.

Eighteen government entities are expected to drive the numerous efforts that will see the plan through to completion. These include the National Cyber Incident Response Plan being updated and the Joint malware Task Force battling malware.

The plan also calls for the creation of a new Office of the National Cyber Director, which will lead certain key initiatives, including driving regulatory harmonization, running exercise scenarios, and establishing cells to increase adversary disruption efforts.
