Nest Cam Can Record Video Without A Monthly Subscription

Share post:

The new version of Google’s Nest Cam will eliminate the monthly subscription fee, making the camera more appealing to new customers.

Previously, the most important camera functions, such as video recording, were locked behind a $6-12 monthly subscription called “Nest Aware,” but the new cameras can now record local videos.

While the new camera can now record local videos, Google has set the maximum usage time at 3 hours, unlike the 24/7 video usage in previous subscription versions.

Google also removed activity zones and some image recognition features from its monthly subscription plan, but the fact that cameras for the new versions of Google Nest Cams can now work offline will not only help users with spotty internet but will also be useful if Google’s Nest cloud service fails.

Its 6000 mAh batteries now allow the tech product to continue working even in the event of a power outage, and it can also run entirely on batteries, provided the user is not interested in doing any installation work.
