DNA Diagnostics Center Confirms Data Breach

DNA Diagnostics Center has confirmed that the company suffered a data breach in which attackers hijacked the personal information of more than 2 million people.

The stolen personal information includes social security numbers and bank details. Further information on the company’s website showed that the attackers had access between May 24 and July 28.

During this time, they removed files and folders from parts of the company’s database. It was only on August 6 that officials discovered the vulnerability.

The company announced that it will offer credit monitoring to anyone whose personal information has been accessed.

The company also asked those who were forced to undergo a DNA test and carried out individual testing between 2004 and 2012 but did not receive a letter to call 1-855-604-1656 for detailed information.

The company is currently working with cybersecurity experts to recover the stolen information, and those who believe their information could be stolen during the beach are advised to put in place a 1-year “fraud alert” on their credit files.
