Apple Mandating Proof Of COVID-19 Booster Shot

According to The Verge, Apple will require its employees to provide proof of a COVID-19 booster shot.

This means that unvaccinated employees or those who are yet to submit proof of vaccination will have to provide a negative COVID-19 test as of January 24 in order to enter Apple workplaces.

“Due to waning efficacy of the primary series of COVID-19 vaccines and the emergence of highly transmissible variants such as Omicron, a booster shot is now part of staying up to date with your COVID-19 vaccination to protect against severe disease,” the memo says, according to The Verge.

However, The Verge’s report did not clarify whether the test requirement applies to both company and retail employees.

Apple’s move is one of several efforts by technology companies in the United States to reduce the transfer of COVID-19 infections.

Meta mandated COVID-19 booster shots for all workers returning to their offices.

Google has also ordered weekly COVID-19 tests for people entering its U.S. offices. Amazon offered its U.S. warehouse workers $40 to get a booster shot.
