Apple Unveils Watch Ultra, Satellite SOS iPhone

Apple unveiled new models for its AirPod, iPhone and Apple Watch. The company unveiled a new Watch Ultra model designed specifically for users who practice extreme sports and diving.

Apple also introduced its Emergency SOS service, which would allow iPhone 14 users to send emergency messages from a remote location.

The new Watch Ultra costs $799, and it offers remarkable features, including a larger battery for the duration of events such as triathlons and better waterproofing and temperature resistance for outdoor use. There is also better GPS positioning for sports.

For its Emergency SOS service, Apple will partner with Globalstar, a company engaged in the production of low-earth orbit (LEO) satellite. Apple will invest $450 million from its advanced manufacturing fund toward satellite infrastructure to support this feature.

Although Apple will pay 95% of the approved investment for the new Globalstar satellites needed to support the service, Globalstar will still have to borrow additional debt to finance and deploy the satellites successfully.

All watches and new iPhones will be able to detect when a user has been involved in a serious car accident, and call emergency services and contacts.
